REIT in HSA - REIT in Roth IRA
« on: April 04, 2015, 10:56:00 AM »
Hi Everyone,

Via the forum, and Bogleheads I've learned having my REIT in a ROTH IRA keeps my growth "and" dividends tax free even when withdrawn from the account at retirement.  I am wondering if the same rule is true for my HSA?  I recently opened an HSA and have been looking to purchase total stock index funds for it; but I do this already in my 401k and in my IRA <std>...  I only have a tiny % in REIT in my ROTH IRA....

So, I was considering increasing my REIT position, but do it within my HSA... Is the growth, dividends and withdrawals all tax free? (when spend on valid medical expenses).

Thanks in Advance,
