Title: High yield bond funds?
Post by: Dancin'Dog on July 13, 2017, 01:48:13 PM
What are these, and what are the risks?  I see in Kiplinger's that the Fidelity New Markets Income fund 1 year annualized total return listed as 13.4% and the Vanguard High-Yield Corporate fund at 9.7%.

Most bond yields are low, so what's the story about these?

edit: I found this list http://news.morningstar.com/fundReturns/FundReturns.html?category=$FOCA$HY (http://news.morningstar.com/fundReturns/FundReturns.html?category=$FOCA$HY)  and see some had negative returns, so there's obviously risk involved.
