Does any of you have experience opening an HSBC expat account? The office is in Jersey, an island off UK. Maybe due to privacy or tax concerns that they are putting it in that location.
They are ready to open an account for me provided I fund it 60k GBP. Am wondering if I should put the minimum amount 60k and use it as a long term TD for my USD. They have a special 3 months TD of 1.5% per annum, only for new funds though and my guess unlikely given to old funds if the plan is to store long term.
