I have a small thing to add.  If the IRA limit was increased, I'd very much like the deductibility limit to be removed!  DH and I are just at the income level that we are unable to deduct IRA contributions, but we can deduct 401-K contributions.  Unfortunately he's in a place without a 401-K right now and my employer severly limits what I can contribute to my 401-K, so we are very short on pre-tax space.

Thank goodness for our Roths!  At least that's some tax advantage.

So yeah, I'd love to be able to deduct more, and I'd love for the amount that each person can invest pre-tax to be more fairly distributed through the population.  The idea of everyone being able to contribute to the TSP sounds way awesome to me!
