Title: CNN can't make up its mind, or, why you shouldn't read financial news
Post by: teadirt on November 15, 2016, 10:57:57 AM
As if we need another reason to never listen to financial news. Stock market moves a few points in either direction? Blame Trump!

Financial television motto: if the market moves, there must be a reason!  And we'll sit here for 8 hours spitting out jargon until we find it!

I used to read it everyday, but now I just ignore it unless it's "big" news.

Its all about hedging their bets.

As an aside, I'm sick of how the news agencies report MASSIVE drop, and you check and its only 1% down to what it was a week ago.

I dont watch the Clinton News Network or Fox anymore. Both crap. I do watch Sqawkbox because I like the business stories but ignore the very thing your talking about. I do like to learn though what business's are doing and maneuver but I am in all index funds so thats really the only reason. Otherwise its always one guy trying to justify why its going to go up and one guy why its going to go down. Plus i like watching the ticker go by at the bottom of the screen...haha!

Sites like CNN and market watch are nothing more than click bait. There is ALWAYS something to worry about. http://www.ci.com/orderform/pdf/general_marketing/idontwant_poster_e.pdf If you react to all of the bed news headlines you'll constantly be out of the market.

One person saying it will go up and one saying it will go down, that is what makes the market efficient.

Problem is half the time one is wrong, and after fees 85% of the time one is wrong.

This election has taught me that CNN is nothing but Liberal propaganda. I don't tune into CNN unless it's to view coverage of something benign like a hurricane.

That's phenomenal.  You can add "2016: Donald Trump Elected" to the bottom.
