Capital Gains Taxes -- do we have until April to sell?
« on: January 28, 2014, 11:51:29 AM »
We can contribute to an IRA until April to have it count for the previous year. Can we do the same thing with sales of stocks? As in, can I sell off my portfolio now and report the gains for last year (when my income tax rate was 15% and my long term capital gains were 0%)?

Thanks! Should've sold while I realized I would be the 0% long term gains bracket.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
