401k Index Funds
« on: May 15, 2015, 08:07:22 PM »
My workplace has terrible 401k funds.  Our large cap index fund has an expense ratio of 1.70%.  Is this ok?  That's the lowest cost fund in our plan.

Ouch. I would still max out your 401k each year ($18k contribution) and try to get your employer to change to Vanguard or some other less thieving 401k provider. In the worst case they don't change, and you can just roll your 401k over into a Vanguard IRA whenever you leave for a different job.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
