Dutch Oven Recipes?
« on: September 23, 2014, 11:25:42 AM »
I was gifted two Dutch Ovens when I got married recently. I'm trying to look around for recipes to use them with. Does anyone have tried and true recipes that the dutch oven rocks for?

We got two for our wedding as well and I wasn't quick to integrate it into my routine right away. I think I was scared and thought it was for special dishes?

Anyway, I got over it quickly. They are so much easier to clean than our non-stick pots and I don't have to worry about utensils scratching the teflon or whatever it is. I make chicken/french onion soup in it and will try other soups this winter. I've done a small shrimp boil. I haven't yet used it for pot roast, but you could or any sort of braised meats.

I have a round one (5.5 quart) and a square one. I don't use the square one very often, but would use that for braising probably. The round one is way easier for soups, etc.

I've used it for this recipe several times recently:

And I just found this site (!!!) and I'm going to be busy with recipes this wknd:
