I recently switched to Ting from my $35/mo Virgin Mobile plan, and bought a refurbished phone. I've never bought anything but brand new phones before, so I was a little wary.
But I can't tell the phone isn't new. It came delivered in new packaging. They must have replaced the screen and the case, because they are both as perfect as any new phone I've ever had. It came with a charger. The buttons and ports all work. If I hadn't paid approximately half of the cost of an equivalent new phone, I wouldn't know it wasn't brand new.
For anyone else considering making the switch to Ting, I'd recommend the refurbished options. I'm not sure what benefit the technically new phones have over the refurbs.
