House/Pet sitting
« on: September 02, 2014, 04:42:59 PM »
Hello Mustachians!

This is the first forum I've EVER joined, and therefore the first post I've ever made.

If you have pets, especially neurotic ones like ours, you might find it difficult to get away. We've usually had a friend's university-age son pet and house sit for us for $20/night or so, but we just found this great site called trustedhousesitters.com, which is sort of like airb&b or couchsurfing. The website takes your money, but most of the sitters don't charge. There are ratings and police checks etc. Our first sit starts next week and we've already met our sitter face to face, and she'll be coming a day early and staying a day extra.

The sitters get a place to stay, often in a city they don't maintain a home in, with the added benefit of pets if they want that kind of an opportunity, and the ratings and police checks increase the chances they can go to even more cool places while they see the world.

I'll try and remember to reply when we get back to town and say how it went.
