Rewards for searching with Bing
« on: January 08, 2014, 10:18:42 AM »
Apologies if this has already been posted about, not trying to spam.  But the search function doesn't recognize quotation marks so when I search for Bing I get every instance of gerunds or participles of verbs that end in 'b'.

SO if you create a profile with Bing, you get points for doing searches with them which you can redeem for gift cards like at amazon.  Roughly speaking, you could get at least $5 for Amazon a month, more if you reach gold status.  You can also donate to certain charities.

I haven't redeemed points yet but it seems to be legit.  It does seem as though they are very serious about closing your account and forfeiting your rewards if you try to game the system by creating multiple accounts.

You can use either facebook or a microsoft account to sign up.  I used facebook and they haven't posted anything to my wall or spammed my friends.  If you don't have a microsoft account it's just like signing up for a free email account.

In case anyone is interested in checking it out, I will just leave this referral link here.

Thanks Sheepstache.  So far I've redeemed $10 in Amazon gift cards.  Here's my referral link too if anyone else is interested.

Here's the most recent thread--lots of us have shared referral codes there.

I'm 3 $3 Amazon gift cards in.  Here is my referral code and a "helper" link to help with those pesky searches...

Looks like Bing is offering 75 credits today only.  Once again, this link can help.

Ugh, I've gotten $10 so far but now for the third one it wants a phone number to send a code to.  I'm trying to get it to call my work phone because I don't want to give my cell number but it rejects it.  (Also tried to do a couple online free SMS receiver numbers, but not go.)  We'll see how going through tech support works.

I'll get on this bandwagon :)

You only get paid a pittance for signing up but it's well worth it.  Unlike mturk or swagbucks, Bing gives you rewards for doing stuff that you probably do everyday anyway!

Is this really worth it. I mean how much could a person earn just using Bing as their search engine (i.e. not cheating)?

It helps when your employer pays you to fix large problems that are really just an aggregate of smaller problems with solutions easily available on the internet.

What's everyone's reward structure like? I actually have two accounts (one at home, one at work). My work account recently changed to:

Earn 1 credit per 3 bing searches up to 30 points a day.

My home account is:

Earn 1 credit per 2 bing searches up to 15 points a day.

Not sure why one is different from the other. They used to be the same. I actually like the higher earning capacity of my work account, as coupled with the phone searches I can basically get a $5 gift certificate every 12 days.

I get 1 credit per 3 searches up to 30 a day. I've been getting my Hulu paid for for months now.

I get

1 credit per 2 Bing searches, up to 10 a day. Mobile searches
1 credit per 2 Bing searches, up to 15 a day. PC searches.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
