Ha well that was interesting. The links changed from /unread/ an /unreadreplies to something like /index.php?action=unread and /index.php?action=unreadreplies Since my Chrome "often used" thumbnails pointed to /unreadreplies, I'd end up on the forum home page. So I went and deleted a ton of browsing history pointing to the old links... and then they switched back to the old way after all. What's going on?!

That's me! The "Pretty Url" package for the forum seems to be the cause of people having editing and post glitches. Was upgraded/removed while you were posting.
When removed, the urls return to how the forum looks by defulat, which is the index.php?blahblahblah
-
Hmm and now they don't work at all.
The links goes to https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/unread/ but that takes you to the home page. OK - I'll patiently wait the upgrade process to complete :)

The "not pretty" links work, for people that need a workaround:
All Unread Threads
https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/index.php?action=unread
Unread Replies
https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/index.php?action=unreadreplies

All roads lead to the forum home page, including these, at the moment.

It's okay, I have plenty here at work to keep me busy.

Whoa - that just started happening in the past few minutes. This story is moving fast :)

My browser is changing these links to /unread/ and /unreadreplies/

Me, too - at this point. Not sure if the "upgrade" or plug-in installation is "in progress" but that's my assumption... (or the "Pretty Url" package is breaking/broken with this forum release.)

I created bookmarks in my browser with the ...index.php... urls, and those bookmarks seem to be working.
-
Ah! At least it's not just me.
...although I am slow to connect the dots. "Post to follow! ....oh wait"

Weird - you can copy/paste them or use bookmarks, but not click them... !
-
Trying to read my PM s also leads back to the home page. But I'm glad it isn't just me

Thanks for the pasting tip. Using that for now =)

The Show unread post function does not work currently.
-
It's actually flaky - I try to use anything in the top part, and it doesn't work, and the next time unread replies does work, and then it doesn't!

Copy/paste also leads to the home page for me.

I'm copy and pasting this: https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/index.php?action=unreadreplies and it takes me to the unread replies page correctly.

Copying/pasting works for me. Clicking that doesn't (nor do the normal forum links).

Ah - regular copy works for me, "copy link address" does not (must function like a regular click).

Yeah, sorry to not be more clear. Nothing fancy. Literally copy and paste, old school style =)

Oh I knew what you meant - just wanted to clarify. Thanks for the tip! :)

My apologies for the funny activity on the forum over the last few hours. There was a glitch with the "pretty url" package on the forum I caused that was the origin of the links going back to the home page. Attempting to fix one issue, I created a much larger one...
The problem was, with the links not working.... I couldn't fix the issues anymore, then I had to hop back into my day job and couldn't give the forum my full attention.
I had to dig in the forum's sql database to flip the switches manually, but I have triumphed!
Everything should function normally now, though you may have to clear your browser's cache.
If people are interested, i'd be happy to dig in deeper with the technical issues in the future.

On the positive side of this mess, it looks like we're closer to the solution with edit errors that have been happening recently with some browsers. However, I'm not touching anything else tonight!
Cheers!

Thanks clackapedia for your hard work keeping the forum running! :)
-
And if this is easier to find on mobile, this is the link you want for now:
https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/index.php?action=unreadreplies

Wonderful! Thank you!

FYI - if you've ever changed the subject / title of your journal thread, and you have the URL in your signature, it has probably changed.
CanuckExpat - looking at you!
