Redirect to ad sites when clicking on unread since last visit?

Anyone else experiencing this problem? It's on an ipad, happens some but not all times when I click on the "new" button next to a thread in the "unread since last visit" list. I see the thread for a few seconds, then, apparently when the forum tries to take me to the first new message within the thread, I'm redirected to a spammy advertising site - not always the same one.

You might have some kind of adware on your device. Try running a scan.

You either have malware, or the iPad can make it hard to click exactly at the right spot on some sites and you may click on an ad instead if there's one close by. I've never experienced this before.
