recently unread topics missing?
« on: July 30, 2017, 01:30:24 PM »
I've recently lost the links at the top of the forum for "Show unread posts since last visit" and "Show new replies to your posts".  In all browsers, on all devices.  Was this a deliberate change?  Is it just me?

Cached copies of old pages have them, reloaded versions of the same pages do not.

Is the little white angle in the upper right (to the right of "The Mustachian Forum") pointing up or down?

If "down", try clicking on it so it points up.  Does that work?

Magic!  I never knew such things existed.

Now, why can't I delete this thread?

Because others might see it and recognize their own problem, e.g., "Show unread replies since last visit" and "Show unread replies to your posts"? ;)

Now, if only there was an explanation of what all the buttons above the text box that pops up when you hit "Reply" are for. I think there's big magic there, but have no idea what it is. I'm afraid of changing something that I'll never get back, just like in Sol's example.

How many copies of the same answer do we really need cluttering up our forum?  I see the point in preserving one, and featuring it prominently.  I'm not sure I see the point in keeping them all.

You can ask a mod to delete this thread if you think it has no value, but we can no longer unilaterally delete entire threads in which other members have posted.  See here for details:
