Looks like I was wrong on this - Mods please remove this thread - thanks!

If you're like me and like to click "Show new replies to your posts" to catch up on interesting threads, then you likely add posts like "posting to follow" with no other content.  Sometimes these fill half a page and make the thread cluttered.

Once you post on a thread, you are following the post forever, even if you later delete your post.  So to 'subscribe' to a thread, you can do your standard "posting to follow", but then delete that post.  Problem solved!

I know there's the "notify" button, but it works differently than posting to follow, which many prefer.
