Is there a way to flag or sticky certain threads?
« on: June 08, 2020, 11:43:03 AM »

I like to follow certain threads here and not others.

Sometimes those threads get lost because they aren't frequently used.  I would love to be able to mark them so they appear at the top (e.g., like the top of my "new unread posts").  Sometimes I also follow a thread but then want to move on and it keeps popping up in the new replies so then I distract myself.

Basically, I'm looking for a way to mark my favorite threads and have them appear somewhere special so I can find them easily without having to hunt and getting distracted by other things.

Is that possible here?  I've searched all the features and can't see anything that does that.

1 - go to this page and bookmark it: https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?area=notification

2 - set your settings as you see them in the attached image

3 - every thread has a Notify/Unnotify button. Use that button to make threads show up on the page

Thanks.  Do I then go to that page to the find the list of topics?

So basically I can just bookmark the list of threads I want to follow and then go to the notifications page to follow them?

Bookmark this page: https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/profile/?area=notification

If you decide to quit following a post, go to that post using the above link, then click the Unnotify button when the thread appears.

(Use the Notify button on any thread to start following a post.)

You only need to bookmark that one page. I use that page as my main entry point into the forum. I go there to see updates to threads I'm following.

If you're out in the forum and find a new thread you want to follow, you don't have to bookmark it, just click the Notify button. When you're tired of it, click Unnotify.

Thanks.  This is really helpful.  I am going to do this.

It would be helpful if there was a link at the top of the home screen that could take you to all your bookmarked pages, but I understand this is basically a software package so it is what it is.

I hear you. A good work-around is to add your bookmark to your bookmarks bar, which is usually at the top of your screen. Usage wise this is nearly indistinguishable from a built-in link.
