How to find new responses to your posts
« on: July 05, 2016, 06:07:38 PM »
I've been off the forum for a few days, and am wondering if there has been a format change?  I cannot see my avatar at the top of the screen (under the MMM banner) and the "show new replies to your post" link that was to the right of it. Has that been changed?

Nope. Maybe your adblocker or javascript settings are messing up the page?

Good thought.  I am using an older laptop, but just checked on my phone and see that it is not there, as well.  Will check on a different computer.

You might have accidentally collapsed the top navigation. There's a little up/down arrow on the upper right corner of each forum page. You can click that icon to toggle the navigation.

I don't have an avatar (and I don't load all images, notably the top banner is missing), but here's what it looks like collapsed vs. expanded:

Separate question: how do you avoid loading images? I don't think I've sorted that out in any browser since Netscape.

In Chrome it's Settings > Advanced settings > Content settings > Do not show images

You could also use something like AdBlock and block certain images as "ads".

In Safari it's in the bar at the top - Develop - Disable Images.

Thanks, both of you. I do have Ad Block running, but this will help.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
