How do I delete multiple posts??

Use the link which allows you to report it to a moderator in the bottom righthand corner of the post.  That will bring it to their attention and they can delete it.

MOD NOTE:  Yes, this can happen sometimes with slow connections and busy servers.

What you did is fine: change the topic or the body of the post so that it says "delete me" or whatever - that way no one starts responding to it.

Then flag the post to the moderators.  We can take care of this very quickly.
