I will be increasing the resources allocated to the server running the forum this evening, but to do so, requires some downtime.  The server will be going offline tonight at 6 PM EST for up to two hours, but likely less!

update: the provider is holding off on resource upgrades on the datacenter this server is located in due to some issues.  Hopefully will be able to do the upgrade later this week.

when I do, the system will have double the memory :-)

@clackapedia Just a suggestion, but would moving to a cloud hosting provider solve many of the slowness issues that users are complaining about? Moving to, for example, AWS would bring scalability and flexibility, and also you can offload content to edge locations using CloudFront, for AUS/NZ and European users.

I used to notice slow times to post, don't see them anymore. If you were to make the site adaptive to demands, you wouldn't have to worry about a physical datacenter, hosts, memory, storage, etc.

Just a thought. My 2 cents. Ignore if impractical.
