No.

But responding to the post and telling them you like it would be nice feedback.

If not, you can copy the article ("quote", then copy the quote) and post in this thread

I wish there was a like feature as well as a notification that someone has responded to you.

"Show new replies to your posts" does that. It's at the top of the page, right below your username. It won't tell you specifically if someone responded to you, but it lets you follow topics you've posted in.

Yes, I use that but it would be nice as on other forums, it alerts you that someone has responded to your post.  Then, you can click and magically appear at that response.  Here, it is a bit more troublesome to find posts and whether or not the responses are to you.

Yes, I so wish I could "like" or respond just to a comment  or add to it.     I'm not sure i get how to use the "quote" thing.  I just tried it but i did it wrong :(

You'll be forgiven.  Just keep whatever you want to say out of the area between [/quote] and [/quote]  and you'll be fine.  If you need practice, click a post to 'modify' - this will bring up the text version of the post, complete with quote tags. It might be easier to see that way.

Click the button that says "quote" next to the post you want to reply to.

If you have multiple, click "reply" then scroll down to the quote you want, and click "insert quote."  Then type a reply.. then scroll down to the next one and click "insert quote" next to that one, and so on.  :)

I'm not sure if it's proper etiquette, but many people quote a comment they like and add "+1" to voice their "like" or agreement.

+1 to this

Forums using Discourse generally have a neat little feature where a circle will appear by your user name (generally on the top right of the screen) when someone has replied to your comment or liked your comment. And you can "tag" people with the "@" key, so you can bring someone into a conversation you think they'd like even if they haven't been involved in the thread yet. Those are very handy features and they prevent users from having to constantly click the "check links" and wade through it all to see if anyone responded to your specific point or if all the chatter on the thread has moved on to other points.

(I'm not sure if MMM ever plans to upgrade the forums...there is SOOOO much great info here. I'm just not sure that the current setup maximizes users' ability to communicate with one another....just my opinion. I still LOVE this site and it's pretty hard to complain about something that's free to use. This is just a suggestion, not a complaint).

I also wish there were a like feature.  I'm a regular on another board that moved from  board linked to a major news network.  The original board had another type of feature, but the new board had a like feature.  It really seemed to create more of a community-feel surprisingly to me.  It doesn't seem like it should matter too much, but it really does.
