My side hustle: restoring midcentury-style furniture
« on: April 08, 2018, 10:13:49 AM »
Hi guys, I've been blogging for a few years, but I've been unsure where to post my articles since all my friends are moving away from facebook. Maybe you guys will enjoy them?

My goal is to import Danish vintage modern furniture via container to my town and sell it wholesale. I'm going to be doing that this summer, but in preparation for that, I'm researching the local market by buying, restoring and flipping furniture that I find in my area. I write about what I learn as I go - here's the latest post. http://rocketships.ca/blog/treasures-from-ladysmith/

A container is pretty big...where would you store it?

I'll have most of it sold before it even gets into the container. So it'll be stored at the shops that I'm selling to. Whatever's left I'll put in consignment shops or a storage unit, hopefully not for longer than a month or so.

As a long time business advisor, a few of my favorite words are "I'll have most of it sold before..." because it takes a lot of the risk out of the proposition. Good!
