Can Anyone recommend a financial/tax advisor to help with the new business my wife and I started last year?

We have had unexpected growth and have recently left our jobs to work for ourselves full time.
When I brought my concerns about being self-employed, taxes, and buying health insurance, my current CPA told me I should have never quit my job!

I am looking for someone who is not stuck in the "typical middle class" mindset. I want someone who thinks outside the box, who can help set up my new business for success, expansion, and maximum retirement planning.

We are almost 50 yo and there is no time to lose!

I don't have an answer for you, honestly, but I'd like to hear any recommendations myself. Starting to look for a solid CPA now that my income, side hustles, and investments are pushing me beyond the standard deductions and simple tax filings.

Check out https://www.xyplanningnetwork.com/. This is a network of Fee-only financial advisors, many of which are focused on business owners. The website gives a directory of their CFPs (Certified Financial Planners) which you may browse based on location (if you want a local guy/gal) or planning need - in your case business ownership. All of these are independent advisors who have built their own niche rather than catering to the masses.

When you look for a planner, make sure you're very clear with your needs and they listen to you. A good planner will  listen and tell you if they are a good fit for you or not.

Disclosure: I'm a financial planner myself, but I focus more on the personal side so I'm not sure I'd be able to help as well as some others. I'm also not a part of the xyplanning network, but of those out there, this looks like a great organization focused on the under-served population.
