How do you find a manufacturer for your new product?
« on: June 17, 2019, 10:44:12 AM »
I have a design for a new product and I have money to invest in manufacturing, patenting, etc., but I don't know where to go from here. Ideally I would like to sell it on Amazon in the $40 range. I would appreciate any advice and a point in the right direction from those who have done this before!

The answer varies greatly, depending on the type of product. Is it a textile? Cool gizmo? Simple work/stress reducing item/tool?

The more info you can provide, the higher quality feedback you will get.

A trade show for the industry would probably include manufacturers.

Alibaba.com is a way to find Chinese manufacturers.

Portexaminer.com and similar pay sites let you lookup information on almost all incoming shipments to the U.S. You can use this to find the suppliers for competitors then contact them directly.

I ran a manufacturing company for a few years, so I've seen a bunch of different things getting manufactured and have led a few products from idea all the way to mass production. Sent you a PM with my contact info in case you want to talk.
