Wire rod supports for bookcase shelves
« on: March 07, 2014, 09:50:07 AM »
My daughter rescued a bookcase with shelves from the curb but it has no shelf supports.  The shelves have 2  grooves along their undersides I'm guessing for wire rods that fit into the holes in the sides.  I'm trying to help her long distance.  I sent individual peg-style shelf supports but don't know if they would be too big for the holes.  Any advice what the rods are called and what size they might be if the ones I sent are too small? I googled but could find no info.   She has limited access to a hardware store or tools.

If there are holes I would first go to Lowes/Home Depot and try to buy shelf pin supports.  There are at least 2 sizes so buy one of each and try them.  Once you figure out what fits buy the rest.

Not sure of the grooves on the underside....

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
