When can I paint the pine outdoor sectional I built?
« on: August 15, 2015, 09:35:48 AM »
Carpentry newbie. I don't want to buy a moisture meter for this one job. Got one section painted with 2 coats Monday before the torrential rain all day Tuesday. No shed or garage to put it in, and it's too big to fit in my house. This week looks fairly dry. Anyone know how to tell when it's OK to paint it? Did a bunch of searches online, but all they said was don't use pine, or use marine varnish. I have an exterior paint and primer in dark gray. Thanks for any help!

It's good practice to wait 24-72 hours to paint, as with a wooden deck.
