Voltage question
« on: October 08, 2016, 02:09:36 PM »
Looking at getting heated glove liners to go inside my work gloves. All liners appear to be 12v or less systems.  I would like to connect the gloves to a Dewalt 20v battery.  Will the voltage difference fry the liners?

My guess is that it is a simple ni-chrome wire heater built into the glove. If so, it may not burn it out immediately, but will do so over some time. It will generate excessive heat and keep your hands TOO warm, maybe even burn you.

I would not recommend doing this.

That's what I thought.  Thanks for the reply.

You could look into DC-DC conversion. Do you know the resistance of the gloves?
