Smiley Face on FB

How do I install a smiley face on FB? I've tried but all I see is what I've typed in the comment. I know it should be easy, but it's just not working for me. Appreciate the help.

Can you be a little more clear with what you want?  In other words, describe what you'd like to happen, because "install a smiley face" isn't a thing.   :)

Type in a colon : and a right parentheses ) next to each other. Like this : ) without the space.
Then you'll get a smiley in the message.
