Sensor Lights
« on: January 14, 2015, 07:23:30 AM »
Since last winter I've been working on making my house more energy efficient in every way I can find. My newest goal is to install a sensor light on our porch so I don't have to leave the light on when I go out. We live in a duplex community so I need to make sure it doesn't flick on every time someone walks by. Has anyone done this and if so, do you have any advice that might be helpful?

Thanks,

The Office Lady

Our flood light, with sensor, came with selectable sensitivity.

It should be easy enough to adjust the sensitivity, aim and range of the sensor, if these adjustments are provided.  Be sure to carefully read the instructions, and make the adjustments as directed, sometimes you have to be patient.  Pick your sensor/light with your needs in mind.  I.e., don't get sensor/light that has a 100' range if you only need one that has a 20' range.  This way your adjustments will be more accurate.
