Repairing the inside of a shoe?
« on: February 17, 2015, 02:59:22 PM »
I've had this particular pair of shoes for just over four years, re heeled multiple times and resoled once. However, now the inside of the sole has worn out! It's like a leathery lining/insole attached to the shoe that has worn a big hole in it where my heel sits. Can I replace it? How?

Happens to me too (I am currently wearing boots that are approaching 17 yrs old!  One of the few areas I am Jacob-level frugal.)  I just put cushy insoles in, they do the trick for me.

You mean straight on top of the actual inner sole? I was wondering about ripping it out and glueing a new one in?

Yes, I take out the old insole (what remains of it) and put a new cushy insole over the inside of the divoted section of the worn out sole.

Keep on walkin'

I also have kept shoes in use putting in a new insole.  Works great.
