Need help on Decorative waterfall/pond!
« on: July 14, 2014, 07:08:54 AM »
We have a medium sized i guess 12x 12 decorative waterfall and pond in our backyard that I have developed a love/hate relationship with. The waterfall pond was here when we bought the house, sure they spent alot to have installed and it really is beautiful and I love the sound and back drop it provides.  Has tons of flowering lilly pads and other water grasses and attracts a bunch of neat birds etc.. but a year ago the aerator broke and froze so we lost all our Koi fish which is fine with me.  Anyhow I have tried every product available to try and eliminate the string weed etc... and nothing seems to work. I also add the good bacteria stuff and once a week usually shut it off and take a container of 39cent salt from Aldis, sprinkle on all the stones and that cleans it all up nice. I cant beat the string weeds and its several mornings a week I am scooping out a pile of it. Anyone have any idea and or home remedies? I just don't want to lose the plants.

Thanks!

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
