Having a tough time removing toilet seat cover.
« on: November 13, 2017, 11:02:57 AM »
I got this bidet from Amazon and I've been trying to install. The instructions tell me to remove the toilet seat cover, place bidet and then attach the seat cover. Fairly simple install. But I cannot, for the life of me, unscrew the toilet seat cover. The screw is plastic and I cannot unscrew it. I tried with a flat screwdriver and it just rotates forever without coming out. I tried pulling it up to "dislodge" it but no dice. There is some kind of putty like material between the seat and the bowl where the screw is. Tried to remove it. Nothing. I am afraid I'd damage the screw. Any suggestions?

Undo the nut on the other side and pull the whole thing up.  It should be a facepalm moment once you get the nut off the underside.  No judgement from me I understand your situation.

There is no underside for this one. I already looked into it.

Then you're screwed!

Can you pull up slightly on the screw with some pliers to get it out?

A picture would help, but squeezing the screw head withvise-grip pliers at an angle to give yourself more lever arm could help.
