How to remove pool ladder with no visible bolts?
« on: April 03, 2018, 02:52:45 PM »
I'm a new pool owner and trying to remove the gross old metal ladder. Videos like this one tell me to partially unscrew the bolts, tap them with a hammer to loosen the wedge beneath, then pull out the ladder. Unfortunately I don't have any bolts to work with.

Here are some pictures. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this ladder out?

Disregard! I was able to get it out by tapping upward on it with a mallet while pulling at the same time.

Ah, a little DIY ingenuity saves the day!

A few words of caution. Typically, pool ladders are required by code. Not having one could jeopardize the safety of your pool and possibly be an insurance issue. I get that it's gross and needs to go, but since you said "remove", not "replace", I just thought I'd toss my two cents in.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
