Fixing ice dispenser
« on: September 06, 2013, 06:07:07 PM »
So I noticed a large build up of ice in the chute from the icemaker.  Upon investigation, its obvious the problem is with the rubber seal on the "flapper" is warped, so it creates a bad seal allowing warmer air from the house to get up in the chute.  A quick youtube search makes it seem like a fairly easy/cheap fix.  The biggest problem would seem to be getting the electronic facing off.  Thoughts?

Put your refrigerator brand and model number into FixItNow.com, and see what instructions or videos are available.

You can do much the same at YouTube.

In our Fridgezilla, the flapper's rubber seal is fine but the solenoid that opens/shuts the flapper lever arm keeps corroding and getting stuck open.
