How do I choose a good barbecue grill rack?

We're planning to make a small breeze block barbecue because we have some lying around and it seems like fun, but we would need to buy a grill rack. Never having owned one ourselves before, how do we choose? I would like something we can put in the dishwasher, but beyond that I have no idea what criteria to use.
