I have been battling the weather for the last two weeks commuting by bike and I swore to myself that last thursday was the last day my work clothes would be drenched!
I found an article on the web about weatherproofing bike bags using garbage bags and a hot iron. It turns out that this stuff (garbage bags) is really easy to melt and fashion into whatever you want.
I used a hot air expeller and two kirkland garbage bag to produce a very cool and hopefully completely water proof shell for my bike bags. It took maybe 20 minutes.
It does not look the best, but it gets the job done. On the plus side, it looks like I have some kind of latex fetish while riding my bike.....
As anybody else experimented with this? Next, I am thinking of making melting a coating on top of my shoes for winter.
