I have floor-length thermal curtains in my loft and they are a life-saver for keeping the heat down in that area.  But I also have floor vents and sometimes I find my curtains billowing with the heat or A/C flowing up on the wrong side of my thermal curtains.  I think this product will reduce the likelihood of that happening, but I keep thinking there might be an even better solution that won't get kicked out of the way when the floors are cleaned, or that won't trap the curtains in front if someone isn't careful about putting the curtain Behind the shield.  Any thoughts on a DIY solution or a better product that won't get kicked out of the way when cleaning?

Has anyone tried putting magnets in their curtain hems?  It would kind of ruin the effect of the full curtains, but for one area it might work out.

I have a hardbound book leaning against the bottom of the curtains in my living room to keep the curtains back from the AC vent. Works great.

I'm doing something similar with two vases, but I open and shut that curtain to use the door, so it's kind of a pain.  Also, if I'm not the one doing it, then the curtain gets put back in front of the vase, which will put the curtain directly over the vent.  womp womp.

Looking for a solution that is idiot-proof.

Can you add weights to the bottom of the curtains so they don't billow?  My curtains that came with my house have this.

I suppose if the curtains naturally fall directly over the vents that won't help keep the air in front of them, but in that case you'd definitely need something (like the shield) to force them back.

Would something like this work, or would it get in the way of the door opening? We have the same issue, and this solution works for us.
