Title: Community garage spaces?

Has anyone heard of a community garage type places? I suppose it would be similar to hackerspaces, but for autos. I'm in Northern Virginia.

I have some DIY work I'd like to do on my car but living in a condo don't really have access to many tools or good space.

I was just talking to somebody about that on Friday...  They used to be big, but I haven't seen one in ages.
