Basement Ceilings and Bathrooms
« on: January 13, 2014, 02:33:34 PM »
Hi all,

I've got to take the drywall in my basement ceiling down for various reasons. I would prefer to paint the ceiling instead of redrywalling everything. However, there's a bathroom (3/4--toilet and shower) in this section of the basement. I'm not sure how the moisture issues will work with a painted ceiling and a basement bathroom. Is there any solution besides drywalling it again? It's directly below the main floor bathroom so I'd like access to the pipes. I don't know if I'd have the clearance to do useful access panels in the ceiling (it currently has access panels but there's no room to maneuver. Maybe I could do a ceiling access door??).

Thanks in advance!
