Eat Well for Less (Australian TV)
« on: May 23, 2018, 07:09:12 PM »
Not sure if anyone watched it earlier this week but I found this two-part show interesting! It didn't show me anything particularly helpful as I'm already frugal (maybe a couple of ideas for homemade meals), but it was just fascinating to see how people spend so much on food and apparently don't even think about it, and it's not like these people are filthy rich and can afford to not think about it - some of them can seriously use the extra money freed up from making changes to the way the shop and eat. I hope they do a follow-up one year later and these people have really taken the changes on board.

I watched it too.  I found it very interesting, the hosts didn't suggest any really drastic changes, it was all 'low hanging fruit' and yet these people could save thousands a year.
And it's another vote for a follow up show from me.

I just finished watching 3 of the 4 UK series on youtube & putlocker which I really enjoyed, mostly because the hosts were really lovely and super excited to get people eating good cheap food. It was like watching people pull a mustachian 180 on tv - at least wrt food. Low judgement, lots of support.

Apparently we can't watch it outside of Australia.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
