Former LA girl here, chiming in late to say I think you made a good decision. One takeaway I haven't seen mentioned is that you have an influence over your work environment, too. Perhaps your awesome current situation is at least partly of your own making. You can do the same at your new place of employment. Goodness knows you'll have more energy without the soul-sucking commute. And just think of all the things you'll be able to do when daylight savings begins and you're home with hours and hours of lovely daylight to spend as you please.
