Where to stay in LA?
« on: November 23, 2021, 11:31:45 AM »
I'll be staying in LA for two nights next month, and was wondering where's the best area to stay. Should we rent a car or would public transit and Uber be better? Also my flight will be out of LAX super early 5:40 AM.

Hoping to see Santa Monica, Hollywood, Griffith observatory, but anything else that's a definite must-see for just a couple day stay? Thanks!

No expert, but absolutely love staying in West Hollywood, on the Sunset Strip.  Close to Hollywood, although not so much Griffith Observatory and Santa Monica.  But lots of stuff within walking distance, great vibe, and it's roughly in the middle of those two (closer to Griffith).  For us, WeHo is also centrally located to more out of this world all-vegan restaurants than you can count.

Oh, and personally I would not have a car.  We walk everywhere we go, and sometimes (at least pre-covid) would jump on a bus if needed.  You can sign up and pre-pay for a bus pass.  But for two days I would not bother with that and just Uber or walk.  Driving is no fun.
