Northwestern Mutual/Term Life Insurance
« on: June 19, 2018, 05:57:45 PM »
Hello,

I am trying to determine whether or not I should get term life insurance at 28 years old?
What are some reasons why someone should or shouldn't get one?

Also, the advisor at Northwestern always likes to point out the company is owned by its policy owners, does this in any way have a bearing on whether people should get term or whole life insurance? Does it mean higher guaranteed returns?  Or are they just like every other company offering these services?

I don't know if my details are needed to answer this question more thoroughly but lmk.

Thanks

Do you have anyone that you support?  Any large debts like a mortgage?

If you have kids, yeah. If you have a mortgage with a wife, yeah. If not, then no. If you already have a large stash, then no.

Northwestern sucks ass from everything I've heard, so it doesn't surprise me that they would be trying to sell life insurance to someone who doesn't need a cent of it.
