Title: What is REIT all about? And where to buy?
Post by: watermen on February 11, 2013, 09:17:56 PM
I have seen people here talking about investing in REIT. I am still not familiar with it, anyone mind to explain it to me in layman terms?

What kind of REITs are out there? Where do you buy it?

Which REIT gives good return?

Once you've read that, come back with questions on what you still don't understand.

You have a taken a step that most people don't do before investing in REITS by asking what they are?  Unfortunately most people invest in them bacause they pay a good dividend (which is not the case by historical measures) and don't think anything more beyond that.  Like banks, you cannot analyze REITs like normal operating companies - you really need to understand them.

As Tom and Arebelspy have suggested do some research and come back with questions.
