As a DIYer this site is the absolute best, especially for getting CAD models of the stuff you are looking at.

Oh yes, I use McMaster-Carr all the time at work and occasionally for home projects too.

I like Zoro too. Zoro is the civilian version of Grainger. And they'll send you 20% off coupons regularly. So far most have not had restrictions on what you can use the discounts on. Harbor Freight used to have alot of 25% off sales and it could be applied to anything, now their coupons are either specific or have alot of fine print on them. I like their air tools and their toolboxes among other things.

The thread title is a singular website, I should have made it plural. Maybe I can edit that...

https://www.sheldonbrown.com
If there was ever anything anyone needed to know about bicycles, the info is likely there.

https://batteryuniversity.com
Not a university, more like "Battery Wikipedia". Was very useful when I started a self-study on batteries and EVs.

https://endless-sphere.com/sphere/
Lots of ebike and EV info.

https://ubuntuforums.org
One of many forums devoted to free Linux. This one is specific to Ubuntu obviously but also its derivatives like Kubuntu and Mint Linux.

I used to read three websites daily, but as I'm going news-lite and only intermittently open the NYT now, it's just the MMM Forums and Cup of Jo (https://cupofjo.com/), which is a woman's lifestyle blog that has the most heartwarming and supportive comments section that exists on the Internet.

It can get a little consumer-y sometimes - today's post is certainly spon-con - but they are very explicit on what is spon-con and their policies around it. Years ago, they ran a FANTASTIC series on Motherhood Abroad that features mothers (sometimes native, mostly US expats) on their experiences raising kids in other countries.

I just generally enjoy the content Joanna and her team put into the world, and the comments section is always worth diving into.

As someone who is EV curious and would absolutely buy an ebike, this one is very good. I have some research to do.

I really like paperbackswap. I have found make books from the site and enjoy mailing my old books to people I know will enjoy them rather than Goodwill.
