While MMM preaches stoicism, and it is certainly a valuable trait for all of us to have, you don't have to forego quality of life. There is always room for improvement - be it a change to your surroundings, yourself, or even just taking a few minutes to be grateful.
So - what did you do today?
Today I got up early, hit the gym hard (+fitness +health) and then made a smoothie with frozen fruit and protein powder (+health) instead of skipping breakfast like I usually do. The influx of frozen fruits and veggies was a nice way to start my day and I felt like I was getting a treat on my morning commute.

Was decompressing after work last night with Netflix and realized I could easily be doing dumb bell exercises instead of sitting on my ass. Did several sets of arm, chest, and shoulder exercises. The burn from lifting actually felt good!

Slept 8 hours. Will continue that for as long as possible.

Going to turn off my phone right now... gotta get my screen time down.

A morning walk in the vegetable garden, admiring tomato blossoms and hoping for a good tomato season, followed by a bike ride among superbloom of lupines, California poppies, penstemmons, mallows, and a few other unnamed blooming entities.

Played with my dog
Emptied, cleaned and restacked our food pantry - it was getting crowded and gunky. As a mustachian bonus, it helped me to see what we had (4 boxes of cereal and 6 open curry powder packets!), and I planned this weeks meals around using up some of the surplus.
Later today I will meet with a group of friends, we run together on Sunday afternoons before stopping for a chat and a drink (a soda for me) - its a weekly outing where I get in 30mins exercise and spend $3 - which is totally worth it for the good company and the chance to be out in the fresh air.
Today I'm also batch cooking/prepping some school snacks for the weeks ahead for kiddos, and making lunches for myself, so weekday mornings are much less stressful.

Great thread idea! I'm about to wash some fresh strawberries and eat them on the patio in the sun. Maybe I will be motivated enough to do a workout later- still having a lot of trouble coping with postpartum body/emotions over here

Today I decluttered and reorganized some of my clothes. I pulled a pile to donate, and arranged the remaining things in the drawer so I can see everything that is there. I already have some satisfaction that it is neater than before, and adds motivation to continue decluttering and move on to the rest of my drawers soon.
I am also cooking a batch of candied orange peels, which will be a fun, summery treat this week. Plus it uses up what I would otherwise have thrown out, which is always satisfying!

Didn't bother to read new posts in several of the lengthy "off topic" threads. :)

Made a gratitude list that I posted in my office so I can remain positive while doing hard work.
