What's your magical FI number?
« on: June 26, 2012, 05:35:31 PM »
Hi
I am just curious as to what everyone's magical number is. Both with housing and without, if I can be so bold...
We are almost there but have decided to sell our business and house and stuff to travel for afew years before we settle down again.
so we have two numbers, one which will include paying for housing on our travels and another one that includes when we buy a house.
We are also from Australia, but don't know if we will resettle here or not so our costings are from our lifestyle here and allow us to settle here (very expensive lifestyle) or somewhere else.

Our number is $1200 per week. ($62400pa)

Or $700pw with a house owned outright. ($36400pa)

Thanks

C

2000 per month with house, or 1300 USD without housing costs.  This includes dining out, treats ect.  I'd just leave it at 2k per month while traveling. Even thought we travel cheap we still have to sleep somewhere, house swaps are a good way to do that without increasing costs
Cheers
