Ways to Earn Additional Money?
« on: January 27, 2016, 10:34:55 AM »
I'm sure there's a thread that already covers this but I tried searching and couldn't find it.  I work on commissions and the last couple years haven't been very good for me.  We have newborn twins and I need to be making more money.  What are some ways you guys earn extra money? Thanks.

I'm sure others will chime in, but you might want to try searching side hustle or hustle.  I think they might pull up some relevant threads.

I've earned a bit doing surveys on MTurk, mystery shopping, and other random gigs that come up.  I think there's some potential in buying and reselling on Amazon (others on here do this and seem to turn a good profit).

However, I think the more important question is how are you going to raise your normal income.  If the commission thing isn't working, maybe it's time to consider a change in your primary employment.

This isn't a huge amount by any means but both of the below I have tried and actually cashed in:

Bing:

Above is my referral. You can use the referral or not. There is potential for 28-38 points everyday and 3-6 additional points throughout the week. It takes maybe 2 minutes of my time. You can cash in the points for Amazon giftcards (there are other options but Amazon gift cards seem the most useful). Once you get to Gold status (which is pretty quick), $5 Amazon card is 475 points. So I get enough points for almost 2 $5 giftcards/mo.

Above is my referral. You can use the referral or not. I think with the referral you get some extra points too (in addition to me getting extra points). This also doesn't really take that much time and I can easily do $50/month, with a little more time I can get it to $75-$100. There are several ways to earn the points. I have cashed in several Walmart and Amazon giftcards so far since November (when I started paying attention). You can also get the money through paypal. If you are interested, I can write more details on how I get my points.

I know neither will get you a huge amount of money but maybe enough to cover diapers or something for your babies without much effort. I usually do them while watching TV. You probably don't have time to watch tv but if you have downtime at work, you could use that time.
