Three years are now up so it's time to replace my non-mustachian company-lease car with a better alternative.
I've been reading through
http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/2012/03/19/top-10-cars-for-smart-people/ and found it very interesting, but that article is now four years old.
Are there any updates from Lemon-Aid and other sources of statistics? I'm in Sweden and did not find Lemon-Aid available at the library.
I did manage to find statistics from Swedens mandatory auto-testing service, which since the beginning have tested over 200 million vehicles.
Their statistics from 2012 (latest available) of three and five-year old models roughly match the recommendations in MMM's article above;
Honda Fit (Jazz in Europe) and Mazda 3 rate good on percentage of model related errors (below average).
I would prefer the larger Hyundai Elantra Touring (which is called i30 in Europe), but the swedish statistics weren't as good as the ones above. Still below average, but just barely.
One car though that caught my eye, much to my surprise, was the Citroen C4 Picasso. (Not to be confused with the huge C4 Grande Picasso with 7 seats).
The gasoline version of this car is waaay below average on model-related errors in the swedish statistics, and has great mileage for it's size (comparable to the Hyundai).
The Toyota Scion would be a nice car as well, but it is not available in Europe.
Any thoughts in this? Anyone know if Lemon-Aid or other trustworthy sources has anything to say on the C4 Picasso or other mustache-friendly cars recently?
