Talkatone and Texts Versus IMs

I ported my number to Google Voice this weekend in an effort to go to pay per minute with my cell phone service. (I used to do the Platinumtel 40 bucks for unlimited) So far, so good except because it is integrated with my google account I also get IMs on my phone. I don't want IMs but do want to continue receiving texts. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hm not too sure if this is what you mean, but go to google settings then turn off google chat under the forward settings

I don't think that is it. It seems to be a way to forward calls also to my gchat - which is a nice feature. I'm trying to prevent gchat from popping up on my phone while still keeping it open to receive calls/IMs.
