So I've been working for several months to remodel a house that my parents had that they are owner financing to us. We'll be moving in soon, but there's still a long list of projects I want to take care of. While the house is now beautiful inside, there's lots I want to do for the exterior, other remodel projects, plus I might want to add some dormers to give us more space.
The catch is, we can't ever sell this house because a bank would never finance it due to it's construction. Plus the house has some sentimental value to my mom as a piece of local history.
It seems like the general mustachian wisdom is that money spent to improve the value of a house is well spent, but does that apply in this case, where we enjoy the benefits of a nicer house but can't sell it?
